With the exception of Medamud, which is, as yet not open to tourists, the main East Bank temples are easily accessible.

The areas surrounding both Karnak and Luxor Temples are being re-developed to make the visitor experience better, and within a few years will be linked by a rebuilt Avenue of Sphinxes.

Both temples have had extensive works to reduce the groundwater level, which is threatening to destroy them.
