The improvements to the approach to Karnak are happening extremely quickly. The old coach park, and the small park have been demolished,as has the small bazaar area, so that this is now the view from the road. On the Nile side of the road, the corniche has been cleared, the French house demolished (but the trees around it preserved, so that from the West Bank, a clear view of Karnak can be seen. The new buildings for the bazaars, visitor centre, ticket office and cafeteria are almost complete.
